M ... is for the million
things she gave me,
O... means only
that she's growing old,
T... is for the tears
she shed to save me,
H... is for her heart
of purest gold;
E... is for her eyes,
with love light shining,
R... means right, and
right she'll always be.
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER", a word that means the world
to me.
-Howard Johnson (c1915)

The site of this cache has many
purposes.
This is where people come to see Fourth of July
fireworks every year, and the cache is within site of a U.S. Flag.
The cache was placed in honor of Mother's day. And this is also the
place that Wenatchee created the World's Largest Apple Pie a few
years ago.
Mother's Day was first celebrated on Sunday, May
10, 1908. It was started by Ann Jarvis, in honor of her Mother, Ann
Marie Reeves Jarvis. For some interesting information about Ann
Marie Reeves Jarvis, go to this site
On May 8th, 1914, President Woodrow Wilson
designated the second Sunday in May as an official Mother's Day
Holiday.
We use Carnations on Mother's day, because
carnations were Ann Marie Reeves Jarvis' favorite
flower.
