This one should be really fun! This night cache features a little harder terrain than typical night caches, but nothing like the one down the canyon. It will be creepy alone–this canyon is usually extremely dark. So bring a friend! You will walk under a quarter mile one way, but it seems longer in the dark.
You will be completely on small trails until the last 40 ft. or so, but they’re hard to see without light. Near the end, one especially has a lot of overhanging branches and a small fallen tree across the way. On the steep uphill stretch, there is one area where no hints were possible. Just stay on the trail and keep going until you see hints again. You will also have to go around a stand of dead brush to continue at one point, but it is on a trail. I tried to put enough tacks to help in case someone misses a particular tack. Two or more tacks in a spot makes no difference. THE FINAL IS MARKED WITH A SLIGHTLY BIGGER REFLECTIVE TAPE. Look below.
Trust your flashlight. This is the easier night cache in the area, but it still has some brush to navigate and elevation change. Kids over 8 or so who like outdoor stuff would be fine on this one. For a very tough one, try my brother's cache in Slide Canyon, GCMF3Q.
You will cross a well defined trail near the end. It's the spot where you can see the lights of the pavilion. That's the easier way back down.
