Marked trails lead to this ridge, including its classic view of the
valley and the city.
However, the cache is hidden near a less famous viewpoint, offering
a stunning vista of the Nordmarka. Don't worry, you can easily
appreciate both points of view as it takes only a few minutes to go
between them.
The cache is a stealth black Monolith (large micro or a small
regular) of Mostly Moose design. An equally stealthy moose is
guarding the cache.
This cache is dedicated to Bernhard Herre (1812-1849), who died
at 37

from this spot, of a gunshot wound in the head. Bernhard was the
first city dweller to explore these hills and write insightfully
about them.
Also, his closest encounter with love was as a go-between, trying
in vain to match the uninterested girl he loved, Camilla Collett,
with his mentor and best friend, Johan C. Welhaven.
