Geocache Description:

This is a wheelchair friendly cache. This cache is located downtown Gig Harbor on the property of a friend of mine, Wes Ulsh. He welcomes all who come to view the totem. Wes is an avid football fan and loves the color orange. I have placed a plastic container under the totem for those who want to be blessed by the totem and wish to leave something (orange or football related). I have also placed a log book in the container.

Wes is not a Native American. However, he saw this totem (in vision) one foggy Northwest morning as he looked out of his living room window. After considerable work he found a suitable cedar tree and carved the totem pole. The totem was erected July 28, 1979. This memorial totem was dedicated to "those who walked before and those who will walk and shared by us of today." If you would like more information on the totem knock on his front door or e-mail him at gigstotem@aol.com. He would love to share any information about the totem or talk about football. Being retired, and confined to a wheelchair, he is home most of the time.

Parking is available on the road, next to the totem on the grass, or in his long driveway. If you'd like, bring a camera to take a picture of the totem and take back some of it's spirit to your home. For fun and to validate your find e-mail me the answers to the two following questions.

1. How many total figures are there on the totem? (You will need to check all "sides" of the totem.)
2. What is the prominent color of Wes' house?
