Most of the route is a pleasant walk along well defined woods roads. Its a great hike for families and the cache site is a nice spot for a picnic lunch. The area is very peaceful, with the exception of the occasional illegal ATVer roaring by.
The hike should be a fairly easy one, so if you find yourself negotiating 3+ star terrain, you took a wrong turn (I did while placing it). The Topozone map will be a lot of help.
There are a number of ways to approach this cache. The most obvious is via Burnt Meadow Road. If you approach from the south make sure you have a high clearance vehicle. The approach from the north isn't as bad. You Lamborghini and Porsche owners will have come from the north.
Note that the Lake Sonoma access road is closed to motor vehicles. You cannot drive past the yellow gate. Someone keeps tearing down the signs and cutting the lock on the gate, but that doesn't make it legal. You will be prosecuted if you are caught.
