Geocache Description:

Located just off State Highway 35 Between Opotiki and Te Kaha, this cache is beside the Motu River.

The Motu River is the only river in New Zealand to be protected by a special act of Parliament as part of a Wilderness Zone.

The river winds its way though the Raukumara Ranges carving a 100 km gorge. Amid spectacular scenery rafters, kayakers, fishermen & jet boaters enjoy the river. I can recommend the 2 day rafting trips as something not to be missed.

The cache is located near where the original bridge used to cross the river & is easy to access. Please be careful near the river bank, the area can be damp & slippery.

Cache container is a ammo box with the usual assortment of trinkets.
