Geocache Description:

Easy find at a popular destination

This is a quick find for anyone who finds themselves on Lopez Island for a day or a lifetime. The cache commemorates William T. Odlin, the namesake of Odlin Park, a popular destination for cyclists, sea kayakers, boaters, campers and baseball players.

Read a letter from William T. Odlin

Find the rock with a metal plaque on it describing how and when Odlin Park became a public space. Then, find a large Douglas fir approximately 40 feet behind the plaque. Behind that tree, at the edge of the forest, on the ground, under a piece of bark, you will find a sandwich-sized Tupperware containing a log book. Bring something to write with and log your visit in the book.
