Geocache Description:

A short hike to what should be an easy find - bring a book and relax to the sounds and sights of the water.

This cache started life in some mill ruins neareby, leading to the name, but due to proximity issues had to be moved. But I liked the name and kept it - there are no grues(*) nearby.

I've always liked this general area, and want to give people a reason to visit if they haven't been here before. There is another cache on this side of the park, but it can be more difficult to get to depending on timing.

The cache is an ammo can, containing the usual bits. This cache will place you on the less travelled side of the park, so you shouldn't run into too many people. It should be easy to be discreet.

Keep walking down the trail to view the spectacular cliffs, that seem out of place for Penfield. In warmer times I've seen people swimming and wading in this area - but due so at your own risk! There is also a playground close by the cache area for children.

There are several spots you could sit and enjoy the sounds of the water. There are 4 other caches fairly close by to enjoy.

(*)What is a grue? The grue, according to scholars of the Great Underground Empire, is a sinister, lurking presence in the dark places of the earth. Its favorite diet is either adventurers or enchanters, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its extreme fear of light. No grues have ever been seen by the light of day, and only a few have been observed in their underground lairs. Of those who have seen grues, few have survived their fearsome jaws to tell the tale. Grues have sharp claws and fangs, and an uncontrollable tendency to slaver and gurgle. They are certainly the most evil-tempered of all creatures; to say they are touchy is a dangerous understatement. "Sour as a grue" is a common expression, even among themselves.
