Geocache Description:

This Old Pass fills us with many memories. Pappa Bear rode across this pass, as a boy, in the back of an old ’39 Plymouth, when this was the only road from Cle Elum to Wenatchee and points East; it was in ’46 or ’47, and only a dirt road, no guard rails, and a terrified kid looking a thousand feet straight down! This is still not a road for the faint-hearted, and yes, there are huge boulders on the roadway sometimes. Be careful.

The Old Blewett Pass road begins off Highway 97; if you are on the south side of the mountain there is a sign for Old Blewett Pass. If you are on the north side of the mountain, it’s a little harder to pinpoint the start; look for NF road 7320. At the top you are at about 4060 feet elevation.

The cache is a little more than halfway, just north of the sign for the highest point. Across from the cache is the most gorgeous, wide-open view of just mountains and trees- not another road or car in sight.

We were upset to see so much logging going on here again.

You will be looking for a larger camo-ed pill bottle, and it should be a quick find.
