Webb
Memorial State Park
is a great place for a Geo-Meet
Cookout. It is a picturesque strip of land that juts out into Hingham
Bay. There are already three caches on the peninsula and we will be
putting out two more for the day. Geocachers will also get credit for
attending the Geo-Meet. The park has walking trails,
beaches (not much sand), and it even has restrooms! The pavilion where we will meet is pictured above. (There is plenty more grass and picnic area than is shown in this picture.)
Trail Map
We will set up a place to exchange
travel bugs.
Geocachers who are new to the sport and have questions about it should feel free to consult any of the more experienced geocachers that will be present. Most people like to share their experiences and offer assitance.
The cookout part
will be a potluck lunch. We will
bring a grill, the necessary plates, cups, etc. plus a case each of
diet coke, coke, and water plus a large cooler filled with ice. We will start the grill off with a few
hamburgers and we will bring some condiments. The rest is up to you.
Please bring something to share. Anything that you feel like bringing will be fine.
The caches
will be ready to go at 10 a.m. in case
geocachers would like to locate them before lunch. We will have plenty of copies of all 5 cache printouts plus trail maps.. The available caches
will be:

27th Geo-Meet Prize Cache by BluEyz and

The prize
cache will be a camouflaged container with numbered
tags inside. Bring a numbered tag back to the cookout area, sign the log
sheet, and receive a prize. Each team should take one number plus a tag marked "child" for each child under 10 years old that they have with them. Most are token prizes but there are a few
nice ones like unregistered travel bug tags and other geocaching related items.
This place is a bit confusing to find. We suggest going to MapQuest or a similar program and search for River Street in Weymouth. Find route 3A and then take Neck Street, which is at a traffic light and is opposite the Dunkin Donuts and Burger King. If you are traveling North to South, it is just after St. Jerome's School. Take Neck Street to River Street and follow all the way to the end.
