Geocache Description:

This cache is located at Pole Hill on beautiful Little Bay Islands. In order to get to the island you will have to go on a forty-five min ferry ride from Shoal Arm. The ferry trip itself offers the chance to see whales and American Bald Eagles.

View from Pole Hill

The hike to Pole Hill takes about 15 mins and is mainly boardwalk. The view is spectacular (Elevation 101m) and when the cache was placed there were eight icebergs visible in the surrounding Atlantic Ocean. You also get a "Birds eye" view of the community of Little Bay Islands. This community was once a focal point for supplying Schooners enroute to their Labrador fishing grounds. The Crab processing plant is now the primary economic influence. While on Little Bay Islands be sure to log the other two caches placed there. Cache is in a rubbermaid container...white top, clear sides with official geocache sticker visible.
