Short Hike

This is truly a short hike. From the above suggested parking place it is approximately .18 miles to the cache. You will see some very big boulders, poison ivy, a few briars, and you will have to cross a small stream. On the upper part of the stream the water disappears into the ground. I guess it flows the whole length of it after a big rain. However at the time I placed this cache the rest of the stream bed had a thick layer of leaves. As always in the warmer months watch out for the poison ivy and snakes. It's just a typical patch of Alabama woods. If you choose to park on county 52 (Morgan Road) the distance will about 1/10 mile closer, but you will have to cross a railroad track. The track is elevated and you will have quite a tall bank to climb. No mystery about this one, and not much history. It's just a leisurely stroll through the woods. The cache is a camouflaged "divers box" with a good waterproof gasket. The box measures approximately 10 x 8 x 4 inches. Contents include a new leather tri-fold wallet and assorted goodies.
