Geocache Description:

This one’s meant to be done via boat, but it is accessible by landlubbers, just not as much fun. Whole-hearted boaters will return the way they came. Half-hearted boaters will get picked up at the cache. Landlubbers will wander around a bit, then have to drive the last leg- and they won’t fully enjoy the beauty of the creek.

Enjoy the creek! Canoeists, kayakers and small motor boat enthusiasts will enjoy this, but you’ll have to get out of your craft to find the multiple legs of this cache hunt. The last leg is long. In a kayak, I am able to go to the final destination and back in about 2 hours.

Put in at the Vergennes Falls Park. There is ample parking and a boat ramp. OR larger boats can come in from Lake Champlain. The first two legs are magnetic hide-a-key boxes (now there’s a hint!). The third is also a micro, but the final is a large ammo box filled with trinkets appropriate for the trek. I’m not thrilled with the final location, but as you’ll see, there’s not a lot of choice.

The object is to get you to see a bit of the creek.

In the winter, when conditions are just right, this makes a great XC ski trek. If you’re interested, but need to get a “ski report”, send me a note.
