Located in Silver Lake State Park on the southwest end of Silver Lake, This cache is now located just south of the public boat launch that is a popular fishing spot ideal for the kids. There are a few picnic tables in the park and an opportunity for pictures but again the primary function of this park is the launch. I chose to relocate the “Verda Says Hi” cache outside the boat launch area that now charges a fee to go in. You may choose to visit the park as well. But for those who are just caching, this one is now free. Many a cacher has had the opportunity say “Hi” to Verda and many of them may have an idea as to why this cache is now called “Verda’s Log”. But Road Kill is Grinning.Beware the distractions this one is still enjoyable. The terrain is fairly easy but a longer walk. The cache is still a 50 cal ammo box with a logbook and goodies to exchange The goodies are great but the adventure of the hunt and the hide itself are the real treasures.
