Geocache Description:

This slightly offset micro cache is the one of a number of caches secreted along the upper section of the Western Md. Rail Trail. If you are on foot, be prepared to walk over 18 miles. The caches are much more manageable on bike or on roller blades. The caches were placed when the greening of spring was complete and the cicadas were loudly proclaiming their once every 17-years summer of music and love.

The above coordinates do NOT lead to the cache, but rather to an historic marker about the Round Top Hydraulic Cement plant that operated on this site in conjunction with the C&O canal during parts of the 18th & 19th Centuries.

Read the history, then let your eyes wander up the grade through the trees, and as the Cat Stevens songs goes: “Look up at the mountain, I have to climb, Oh yeah….” The climb is short and steep, no special equipment needed and there is no peril or hazard.

When the climate changes, begin your search. The cache is an M&M’s minis super tube, about six inches long. It contains a pencil, log, gc.com identifier, several state quarters and several caching buttons.
