All's Well (Wiltshire) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Wombles: Sadly this one has gone and nothing remains at GZ. It had a good innings, making over ten years on the original cache. However, it does seem like an especially popular or favourite so I've decided to Archive. Thanks to everyone who visited. Thanks.

Geocache Description:

This offset cache will lead you to the restored Village Well of Derry Hill, and then on to a hilltop site which overlooks the town of Chippenham. It is suitable for older children (beware of fast roads) and is adjacent to a good pub, The Lansdowne Arms. Dogs may not be welcome on the later stage of this cache although this stage is a short walk from parking.

This cache starts at the restored village well in Derry Hill, Wiltshire, near the Country House and gardens of Bowood. If you have the time to visit Bowood then it is recommended (this is where Joseph Priestly discovered Oxygen, and Bowood has the best children's adventure playground outside Disney). More details are available at this web site.

You can park opposite the Village Well at the above coordinates.

Derry Hill Well

When you find the Well, find the 4 digit number from Viridor in the format ABCD. The final cache is at N51°26.BC(A+A+D+D-1)', W02°03.9(A-1)7'.

The suggested parking for the physical cache is at N51°26.024', W02°03.769'. An Ordnance Survey map for this location is available at this web site.

The cache is hidden in a camo bag. Long trousers are essential during the stinging nettle season.
