Geocache Description:

Located near the top lock of the Wigan Flight.

The Wigan Flight is a series of 21 Locks along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Wigan. The locks are worth a look, but the walk to the cache will not take you along the canal.

We parked at the top lock at roughly N53.33.335 W002.35.426. From there you will see a footpath going near some woods. Walk along this path until you come to a gate with a 'Kirkless Wood ' sign on it. The cache is located somewhere in these woods. The easiest way to get to it is as follows:

Follow the path along on the left which runs around the base of the woods. Go right round to the far side of the woods, where you will eventually find an easy way up. The cache is located near the top of this way up.

The cache is an ammo box.

We have added a disposable camera in this cache so please take a pic of yourselves, and replace the camera.
