The Abbey Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

stevo185: Unfortunately someone has removed the box. While it was a nice hidey hole, a path had been created to it and would have made it more likely to be muggled. I don't think there were any TB's present and the other good news is that I have placed - The Abbey Returns - today, so some of you will have to come back to the park for another walk.
Steve.

Geocache Description:

Not far into the woods.

This is my fourth cache. Placed in my favourite park in Derby the cache is a medium size tupperware box containing the usual small items, but also initially including a collection of Rolls-Royce centenary gifts. Parking is available near the Abbey public house, N52 56.482, W001 28.570 or at N52 56.332, W001 28.875. It is a short walk from both of these to the wildflower area (please keep to the paths). The cache is just inside the wooded area. Reception is poor (none) but I am sure that when you get there the location will be easy to find. If you have the time take a walk past the Pub and over the weir. Darleys restaurant is just at the edge of the bridge. Carry on past the industrial units and turn right before the rugby club and you will come back into the park on the opposite side of the river. On a Saturday morning during the season the place is alive with many football matches in progress. Less than a mile up the path by the river and you can cross back to the West side, pass the rowing clubs and back into the main park.
