Geocache Description:

English summary below.
Koordinaatit osoittavat vanhalle tervahaudalle. Kulkuneuvosi voit pysäköidä kohtaan N60°19,967' E24°36,576'. Vieressä on myös bussin nro 346 pysäkki. Kävelymatkaa kätkölle kertyy kaikkiaan noin 800 metriä melko helppokulkuisessa joskin ajoittain poluttomassa maastossa.

Tervahaudan luona on kyltti, jossa kerrotaan kuinka tervaa on siinä aikoinaan valmistettu.

Taulun vasemmassa ylänurkassa on tervahaudan kaaviokuva. Olkoon siinä näkyvien tervatynnyreiden lukumäärä = A.

Tekstissä on väliotsikkona mainittu toinenkin vanha "puunjalostuslaitos". Olkoon kirjainten määrä sen nimessä = B.

Suomenkielisen selostuksen keskellä on mies työssä. Mitä hän kuvatekstin mukaan on tekemässä? Kirjaiten määrä kuvatekstin suomenkielisessä sanassa = C.

Kyltin oikeassa alanurkassa on piirtäjän signeeraus ja vuosiluku. Olkoon kirjainten määrä etunimessä = D ja vuosiluku = E. Jos sinulla on vaikeuksia tulkita käsialaa, valitse pienempi luku.

Kätkö on puolen litran Jäänalle, joka löytyy paikasta

N 60°20,xxx'
E 24°37,yyy'

jossa

xxx = A+((B-D)*E)
yyy = B+((A+1)*C*D)

Coordinates point to an old tar-burning pit, where tar was produced centuries ago. Unfortunately the on site process desrciption is in Finnish and Swedish only, but anyway you should be able to collect all necessary information to find this cache. It involves a refresing forest walk in relatively easy terrain.

You can leave your vehicle at N60°19,967' E24°36,576'. Bus 346 has its stop right next to the parking lot. Walking distance to the cache is about 800 meters (one way).

The plaque that explains the tar process is diveded in two. Left side explains the process in Finnish and right side in Swedish. In the upper edge of the left side is the process diagram. Let the number of tar barrels in it be A.

The text mentions an other historic wood processing method. It's in the middle of Finnish text. You can recognise it because it's the only lone word (a subtitle) in entire text. Let the number of letters in it be B.

In the middle of Finnish text, there's a man at work. The legend explains with one word what he's doing. Finnish and Swedish words are separated with / Let the number of letters in the Finnish word be C.

In the lower right-hand corner of the plaque you can find artist's signature and year. Let the number of letters in his first name be D and the year be E. If you have difficulties to interpret handwriting, choose smaller number for E.

Now use the formulations given in the Finnish part of cache description to calculate the final coordinates of the cache. And enjoy your forest walk.

The box is a ½ litre Tupperware.
