Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a bridge off an old railroad bed that used to run between Ely and Winton, Minnesota. The bed isn't well maintained but is easily accessible by a truck, four wheeler, or SUV. Otherwise, its a short hike in from County Road 88.

The Duluth & Iron Range railroad, which used to run on this bed, served the logging companies and carried passengers from the depot shown below, which is now Wilderness Outfitters in Ely to the depot in Winton which is now the Fat Chicken Feed Store.
