Geocache Description:

Great for kids, parking on Summit or Pensylvania Ave - bring fishing poles (nice lake,) good play area to the north. Lots of ducks! Easy to reach the cache - should take minutes to find (on a good day!)

The Marcus Gill Farm - Marcus lived (1814-1886) and his wife Mary Jane Burton Gill along with their 5 children moved from Bath County, Kentucky in 1854 to Jackson County, Missouri (the Gill Farm.) Marcus built a house which lasted 124 years from walnut trees in the area of the farm. It was taken down in 1978. The family sold the farm to the city in 1959. See the marker on the south - east corner of the park for more information about the area.
