A steep, but short hike up Brousseau Mountain. Trailhead is located on Brousseau Road, which is a couple dirt roads just east of the CanUSA powerline- It is marked by a small wooden red arrow, nailed to a tree.
We have a camp on Little Averill Lake where we spend as much time in the summer as time allows. The cliffs at Brousseau Mountain make up the view from our beach. And it's almost as spectacular as the lookout from those cliffs on Brousseau! The cache can be found in summer or if you're diligent, in the winter. Look for a large ammo box.
So, what better place for the sister cache of “Lake Vermont Lookout”! But, what will we put in the cache box? We’re at camp and the nearest store is at least 15 miles away!!! Okay, look around... There must be a few treasures… well, this is what we found:
A pair of sunglasses
A Vermont Buckle Up key chain
A citronella candle
A vintage double deck of cards, compliments of “The Factory”
A few paperbacks- “David Copperfield” and “50 Card Games for Kids”
A Big “D” bottle cooler
If you want a more challenging hike- email me, and I'll give you directions/coords from the "Little Averill side".
Also- I added a few more camp books. Boy, I wish there was someone out there who liked the classics! The cache box is full!
