Geocache Description:

Traditional Cache located on a hillside near a road Altitude +8215 msl

Upper and Lower blue lakes were created by PG&E in the 1960's as small hydro-power lakes. There are 4 improved campgrounds and GREAT fishing! The road was paved all the way in from Hwy 88 last year so now all you flatlanders can drive right in to the area on a good quality road. We placed this cache in memory of my father who instilled the love of the outdoors in me during many camping trips to these lakes. You will find the trip worth every minute! Take the Blue Lakes Road south from Hwy 88 for 12 miles and you will reach the lower lake... a well maintained dirt road will take you to the upper lake. Passenger cars will have no trouble.
