This cache has been archived.

The Senior Sleuths: This cache was in the burn area and I have word that it is destroyed. Thanks to all who visited the cache, but it is time to archive it. We hope the SDRP and it's trails will be open soon.

Geocache Description:

See June 6 note below.

This cache is the last step in a series of 2 caches. The above coordinates are not where the cache is. No puzzle to solve, it just fits the "?" description.

To begin this series of caches, first find the Mule Hill cache. There you will find coordinates for this cache. Free parking is available at the Mule Hill trail.

You can log each waypoint cache as a find on the website. The caches listed in order are:

  1. Mule Hill (Log Multi-Cache)
  2. Beyond Mule Hill (Regular cache)

The trail is an easy, flat 6.3 mile round trip hike that takes you through the Mule Hill Historical Trail (Mule Hill Cache) and part of the San Pasqual Valley Agricultural Trail. It is a very peaceful walk with lots of birds and wild life. It should take about 2 hours to complete both caches on foot (remember those bonus points for getting there on foot or bike :D). There is little shade on most of this trail, so bring water. If it is very hot, do in the early morning or late afternoon. Both caches are part of the San Dieguito River Park and suitable for hiking, biking and horses. The San Pasqual Valley Agricultural Trail is adjacent to active Agricultural operations. In season you will see organic corn, asparagus, gourd and squash farmed on your left. Then you will cross the floodplain and the San Dieguito River. Keep your eyes open for wild life in this area. Just beyond the river crossing, there is a picnic table.

The cache is a regular size camouflaged container. The area has a piece of the valleys history. Do you know what the cache site area used to be? It is not an old road or bridge! Unfortunately this area seems to be an illegal dumping ground with objects too large to CITO out. Beyond this cache, the trail continues for another 7 miles and soon narrows and climbs for 3,400 feet, gaining 350 in elevation.
