This is the first of a series of virtual site related to death in Yellowstone. According to historical records documented very nicely in Lee H. Whittlesey's book titled "Death in Yellowstone", the civilian cemetery can be found on a hilltop overlooking Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and the Mammoth Post Office. Only one monument still stands, identifying two graves. Email me the names on this monument. Better yet, email me a picture with your GPS included.Expect a 300' elevation gain in about half mile hike.
