This cache has celebrated its 20th birthday, in a beautiful part of our area. The ramparts around the plateau are natural, and you can still see the banks and ditch which protected the fort at the south-east end. This is a beautiful spot with spectacular views of the Cotswold scarp and over the valley to Malvern and beyond. Recommended parking is at N51°57.008’ W002°1.545’. The cache is about 0.6 miles away. The path can be muddy and is steep in places so may not be suitable for buggies (except the ATV type). The cache is a large clear picnic box. After locating the cache, we highly recommend that you return by way of a slightly longer round trip (1.7 miles in total). Continue along the path through fields and woods, then bear right to reach the junction of four paths. Take the path signposted to Cleeve Common. This ancient lane takes you across the middle of the hillfort with views across to Winchcombe and Evesham. When you reach wooded areas again, turn right into the ditch between the entrance earthworks. Follow the path back down to the car park. This cache can be visited as part of the new NottHill series by Sulis Manoeuvre. Hope you enjoy this cache - Chris, Marion and Callum Note: Driving away from the parking place, be warned that the drive down the hill, is 1-in-4 and VERY narrow.
