8/3/06: replaced again with a small lock and seal container.this
is a fourth container
5/31/05: Maintenance check. Placed a new cache container to
replace another one that decided to take a hike
This is the 3rd cache container. The first one somehow sprouted
legs and ran away and was found in an ATV park in Tigerton, WI by a
woman who called the police to investigate it. It has found a new
home in the park and it's new mommy and daddy are the R&R
Wanderers. Click on Lost and Found to see it's new cache
listing. Let's hope it's happy there and doesn't run away
again.
The 2nd container left an impression in the dirt.. but it's gone
too. This one might have swam away.
Fireworks, Polka and Beer! What else could a Wisconsinite ask
for?
This is the site of a rural old time fireworks display on the
evening of July 3, the night before Independence Day. The fireworks
are shot off in the baseball diamond and the spectators sit behind
the ball fence and dodge the flaming pieces raining out of the
sky.
And the music! Nothing but loud Polka! Make sure to have a full
plastic glass of beer to douse your blanket when it catches on
fire.
If you want to see the fireworks, call Dan Rathsack at
920-732-3351 to confirm the event.
The park has tennis courts, LOTS of horseshoe courts (bring your
own horseshoes), volleyball courts, basketball court, baseball
diamond and a playground.
Turn north on Park street (it's a dead end) and park at N44
13.604 W87 48.291 Stealth might be required. This park is only a
mile from Interstate 43, County K exit. Good stop for travelers
with kids.
First find goes to Cadieux4 on 6/6/04.
Thanks!
Team GeoPink and I happen to place caches in
this park on the same day. I was quicker listing mine though. But..
to be fair, here's part of his planned listing:
(for those of you in the Milwaukee radio market area, Jon Belmont,
formerly of AM-620 WTMJ, gave this place his own personal thumbs
up)
If you are in town and are able to stop and eat, I suggest
Rusch’s Country Inn right on CTH K (Main St). I’ve been there
countless times since my youth (when it was Weber's) for weddings,
anniversaries, Groom’s dinners, Grandparent birthdays. I’ve ran
around the place as an energetic little bundle of boyhood energy
chasing cousins around all night at the weddings of aunts and
uncles. I’ve hung my head low at the bar, ready to fall off the
stool late at night at another more recent wedding. The food is
very good, the drinks are well made, and the main reason to go...
Kneecaps! This desert made popular here is a Donut-type Creampuff
like Powdered Sugar coated with Real Whipping Cream must have!
(Don't quote me but I think they're 100% Low Carb and Fat-Free,
too. ) Kneecaps are what they’re called. All the deserts alone are
usually worth the stop. Eating is Family Style, atmosphere is
pleasant and small townish, and the restaurant can accommodate
larger groups to singles. Enjoy Rusch’s Country Inn...(I have
also attended weddings here-CalumetDreams)
