This is hike to a beautiful view of the SUNY campus area.
Up, up, up you will go to get to this nice view to the north from the SUNY Nature Preserve Trails. Be sure to bring a camera!This area was cut for hay and kept as pasture until about 20 years ago. Shrubs and small trees have since invaded, creating ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife. The Nature Preserve has a plan to maintain this type of habitat, preventing its development into forest, by removing shrubs to maintain grassland.To get here, take NY 434 to Murray Hill Road. Go south on Murray Hill and then turn right on to Washington Drive and then left onto Lehigh. Park at the end of Lehigh (to the right) at N 42.04.686 W 075.57.566. Start your hike here at the Nature Preserve sign. We suggest hiking boots, as it can be muddy at different times of the year.
