Update February 2015: Please note that in order to comply with Groundspeak's webcam logging requirements, only logs which contain a webcam image will be permitted. Any other logs (eg boarding passes) will be deleted
Update 1st May, 2009: The viewing terrace (accessed from Terminal E) is now refurbished and once more the WebCam itself is most definitely alive and open for business. Access to the terrace at Terminal E necessitates taking the airport shuttle bus from outside the main terminals B/A - this departs every half hour during daylight hours (observation deck/timetable info) - there is a small charge of SFr 5, which also includes entry to the terrace. [Note: in winter, only the Dock B camera is available]
The webcam can be found at Zurich Airport Livestream-Webcam.
- Click on the image to register your request to take control of the camera: the progress bar bottom right will be red with a timer countdown. When this turns green you will have control for 90 seconds.
- Click on the Predefined Views marked "Stand E67, Taxi Echo" and take your photo - with a bit of luck you might even snap an aircraft as it rolls down the runway: note that you can also operate the camera by clicking on the existing image to have the camera centre on that point. Click the "Large photo" or "Small photo" button to open the image in a new window.
If the Livecam is too popular, you can select the alternative Zurich Airport Snapshot-Webcam. Again, start from "Stand E67, Taxi Echo", zoom in and reposition as necessary.
To claim the cache please upload an image of yourself on the terrace.
