This is a three stage multicache and walking tour of downtown Wayzata.
At the first stage, look east and up. What object is prominently displayed on the side of this building? Add the letters of that one word answer up, using A=1, B=2, C=3, ... Z=26. Call that number SUM1. The coordinates of the second stage are then:
N44.58. __ __ __ (SUM1+143)
W93.30. __ __ __ (SUM1+944)
At the second stage, there are three historical signs placed here by the Wayzata Historical Society. Find the answers to these questions by reading the three signs, which are scattered around the garden:
- What year was the Great Northern Depot built? __________
- What year did people first start thronging to the lake? __________
- What year did the first railroad reach Wayzata? _________
Add the individual digits of all three years together into a single sum:
e.g. 1921, 1804, 1900 = 1+9+2+1 + 1+8+0+4 + 1+9+0+0 = 36
Call that number SUM2. The coordinates of the final stage are then:
N44.58. __ __ __ (SUM2+133)
W93.30. __ __ __ (SUM2+875)
The final cache is an ultra-micro. Bring a pencil. A log with just your initials will be accepted.
