Stay a night or a weekend at the campground in Lions Penn Lake Park - run by the Lions Club of Marathon for past 45 years - great spot also for a picnic and for swimming. If you are interested in fishing, the lake has some large Northern Pike (up to 20 pounds), but remember only canoes or rowboats are allowed on the lake - no motorized boatsTo find the cache.
Start your hike around Penn Lake from the playground parking lot: 48° 42.887N 086° 21.508W
Continue on trail, you will pass the cache area before the end of the lake.
The trail goes completely around the lake and ends at the top of the campground. It is only a short distance back to the playground.
