This cache is adjacent to the Sharpness Canal which at the time of its completion in 1827 it was the largest and deepest Ship canal in the world. The canal is beautiful and has a nearby cafe, boat hire and dogs are welcome along the canal towpath. More information is available at this website.
Just a half a mile down the road is the Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Whilst an admission charge is payable here, we consider it good value and it is possible to spend the whole day observing a massive variety of wild birds. There is more information available at this web site.
When you replace the cache please ensure that it is secure and cannot fall (tied in please) - you'll understand why when you see it.
