Geocache Description:

Welcome to The Long Island Maritime Museum. This cache, once you figure out the actual coords, should be a nice easy find. The terrain is mostly flat but might be a little tricky for some toward the end.

IMPORTANT: The above coords will bring you to the middle of the dock in the picture to the right. On either side of you, you will see a small information kiosk. You will need to listen to the info on those kiosks to get the coords to the cache. Answer the following two questions to figure out what the final coords are.

Here are the questions: What year was the boat shop moved from Senix Creek to The LI Maritime Museum? Add this year to the North coords below.

What year did the federal government designate "The Modesty" a National Historic Landmark? Subtract this year from the West coords below.

Here are the coords:

N40* 41.304 - W073* 07.727

Good luck. No bushwhacking is necessary at all. Please do not go in the reed and cattails. The FTF has the distinct honor of being the Guinea pig to see if everything I did here actually works. For your efforts, the FTF prize will be an 18 volt cordless drill. The cache is a medium Lock 'n Lock container with my usual swag.

Other important info: The Museum is located on Suffolk County Parklands and there is NO admission fee to walk the grounds.
