The Roadrunner is the state bird for New Mexico. This strange bird prefers walking or running and attains speeds up to 17 mph. They are quick enough to catch & eat insects, scorpions, lizards & rattlesnakes (thank you!).

Not at all resembling its cartooned image, the Roadrunner is a large, black & white mottled ground bird with a distinctive head crest. It has strong feet, a long, white-tipped tail & an oversized bill. They can range in length from 20-24" & 10-12" in height. It is a member of the Cuckoo Family. while in the desert look for his distinct footprint - 2 forward toes and 2 backward toes.

A gentle stroll will take you to his hideaway.

Cache is full of little feathered friends, Roadrunner magnets & pins, fun little trade items & a logbook. 1st Finder can select a Roadrunner keychain.
