Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden near a very popular beach. It is a short distance from the parking area at Martineque Beach. It is an easy walk but the final find will be scratchy so wear some long pants.

This cache was set as a part of a Guiding Camp which was held for the girl guide units in the Marine Shore Area. We found the "What Lies Beneath" cache first and then planned to set this cache at the far end of the beach but we were running short of time so this is really an easy find for anyone who wishes to do two caches in a short period of time. The container is a large (11 litre) icecream container with a blue top. We tried to hide it well so you really have to look once you get the co-ords. We used three e-trex GPS units, a yellow, a legend and a vista all reading within 4 meters. Have fun and watch out for the porcupines and seals, and do not walk on the dunes because the piping plovers are nesting and you will disturbe the nests. Our pathfinders will be watching to see how this game plays out. They were, for the most part new to the game but enjoyed getting the treats at the end of the hike. There is a special first find prize so on your mark! get set! GO!!
