Geocache Description:

Placed on the day Ronald Reagan was laid to rest.

It is possible from here to look out (hence the cache name) and see Ronald Reagan’s final and permanent home at his Presidential Library to the south in Simi Valley. This cache is right at 8000 feet and close to the Frazier Fire Lookout (hence the name again). You will be in the heart of the Los Padres National Forest and have additional views to both north to the San Joaquin Valley, especially Bakersfield, and to the east toward Lancaster. Night offers the most spectacular sights. 2WD is all you need to reach this spot and park within 100 feet of the cache.

The cache is a plastic, Price Club nut container, inside a cairn of rocks. Please replace those rocks so that the cache is again invisible.

As the week of national mourning ended for the Gipper, we thought it would be appropriate to honor one of the top three presidents of the 20th century and the man who is rated #8 out of the first 42 presidents. Please pay your respects in person here and in Simi Valley as soon as you can.

Remember Geocache Etiquette
1. Don’t leave blank space in the logbook. Use all available white space, including the back of each page. Use a line to separate your entry from the one above it.
2. Reseal the container tightly to keep out moisture.
3. Rehide carefully.
