Geocache Description:

This cache is difficult only because you are required to not only take a ferry out to an island, but to backpack your gear to a remote campsite and spend a minimum of one night on the island as well. Not for the faint of heart!

This is the fifth in a total of eight caches related to the Manitou Islands in the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore.

You’ll stumble upon this cache while hiking along one of the higher areas of the island. This area also represents a change from much of the terrain you have experienced to this point in your trip. Enjoy a brief visit before you have to head back into the deep north woods to resume your trek.

To log this cache, send an email describing the shape of the object in front of you. Please add a description of the purpose of said object if you have a clue. Neither any of our party, nor the rangers we spoke to had a definitive answer to this one!
