Leisure Stroll
The area was cleaned up in August of 2004 with a bulldozer that went within a few feet of the cache. I decided to move it because it was just too much out in the open. It was moved about 35 feet. See the above corrected coordinates. This is another cache on the Vulcan trail. This picture was taken near the cache. The trail starts at a public parking lot near and below the northeast corner of Vulcan park. The length of the trail is approximately 1.3 miles. This cache is near the middle of the trail. If you choose to park at this lot you will have a 1.25 mile round trip to the cache and back. It's really quite a leisurely stroll with fantastic views of the city along the way. As can be seen from the above picture it is a level paved trail. A railroad track was in use on this trail long ago so the whole length of it is level and just as you see it in this picture. You may also park at the other end of the trail at N 33º 29.207 W 086º 48.558. From here the walk to the cache will be approximately .6 mile for a 1.2 mile round trip. This is near the intersection of 11th Place So. and Green Springs Ave. No parking lot here, street parking only. If coming in from this way take exit 258 on I-65. Go east on Green Springs Avenue to 11th Place and turn right up the hill. This is one of three caches (three different owners) along this trail. This cache should be a very easy find. It is a container placed in plain view, depending upon where you stand of course. It is not covered by anything, however it is well camouflaged so as usual with camouflaged containers you must "open your eyes". I am hesitant to tell the size, just look and you should see it. Happy hunting. H a v e F u n ! Mick
