Geocache Description:

Welcome to the 1st Annual Age of Discovery Caching Event! This event is at Hager Park in Jenison, Michigan. Hager Park is located on 28th Ave south of the intersection of Bauer Rd and 28th Ave. Hager park is a real gem and has the largest and most complete playground I have ever seen and 104 acres of hiking trails and wilderness. This is a RAIN or SHINE event!

Hager park has 6 total caches currently! Many of the current caches are being redone for the event. There are also more new permanent caches planned. There are 6 caches within a mile, 30 caches within 5 miles, and 69 caches within 10 miles! I will be posting local lodging information soon (both camping and hotel).

Kids will for sure have a blast at the top notch world class playground!

Where: Hager Park in Jenison, MI. Maples Shelter.

When: Saturday August 28th 11:00 am to whenever (we have the pavilion all day). We will eat around 1:00 PM.

What: Potluck style cookout, meet and greet social, Q&A session, caching demos, event only caches and GPS games with prizes to be awarded at end... more fun stuff in the works!

We are providing: Gas grills, hot dogs, buns, paper plates, ice water, & extension cords / strips for crock pots etc. (there is electricity).

Bring: a dish to pass if you can, chairs, table service, GPSr, FRS Radio (Channel 2), micro and mini cachers, something to grill (if you don't want hot dogs or just want to bring something else), also something for the prize table if you can.

We are also looking for volunteers to bring some items (list in progress) (please mention in your log what you can bring so it can be crossed off the list): Plastic cups, lemonade (or any beverage), deserts, chips / snacks, anything else to help the cause.
