The Haggis Hunt Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Haggis Hunter: As lewisb has said the cache has gone. I have decided to archive it, giving the location over to anyone else who may want to place a cache here.

Many thanks to all who visited. I hope the cliff wasn't that bad?

A nice short walk in the Royal Park of Holyrood.

I thought this would be an appropriate cache to do as once you see the names of the 2 places that I am going to take you too and with my name it made sense to set up a cache here.

This is a short hunt for a cache that sits on a small outcrop of rock known as Haggis Knowe.

First of all though you have to go to the above co-ordinates which will take you into a place called Hunter's Bog. Here you will have to locate a Micro cache which will contain the co-ordinates for the main cache.

The only reason that I can think of this place being called Hunter's Bog is perhaps when Deer hunting was carried out in the Park this was the meeting place for the Hunters?

I have used this area for two reasons 1. The name and 2. It brings you in the way that I want you to approach Haggis Knowe. As you get to about 170 metres away from the Knowe take note of the resemblance it has of a Haggis!! perhaps this is were it gets it's name from?

WARNING: The final container is "ON" the edge of a cliff face. Children & animals should be supervised or kept back whilst retrieving the cache.
(Edit 17/10/05) So if you don't like heights, or being on the edge of a cliff, DON'T do this cache. If you do decide to do it, please don't complain about the location, this warning can't be any clearer.

Travel Bugs are the property of the person who has released them. Therefore I do not count them as a swap item.
Please DO NOT take an item in exchange for any Travel Bugs that you may wish to leave in this cache.

If you are new to Geocaching or don't know the area, then have a look at my bookmark lists for Edinburgh, you may find them helpful.
