Father's Day Fishing Traditional Cache
carleenp: This one had a nice long run. I'm archiving it to open the space back up. This is a nice area for caches if anyone is looking for a good rural location (just remember to disable during dark goose season).

This cache is at East Twin Lake State Wildlife Management Area. It
is a quick and easy diversion from I-80 as well.
I intially placed this cache while fly-fishing with Dad on Father's Day. The cache was later destoryed after the tree it was under was removed and has been relocated a few hundred feet from the original location.
The walk to the cache is not very long on a trail along the lake and then a short bushwack up a hill. You can also get there by starting at the parking at the top of the hill and going down. The trail is a nicer walk though.
You are looking for a small-medium size lock-n-lock container.
The cache is also very easily accessed from I-80. Take exit 388, turn North and then West at the next road. You will see a "dead end" sign. It dead ends at the parking area. It is about a mile drive total from I-80.
This is a fairly popular fishing area and it supports catfish, bass, bluegill, green sunfish and crappie. The crappie are supposedly particularaly good there. Not that we would know! On our day fishing (June 20, 2004) we caught a few smallish crappie and some tiny baby bluegill, crappie and green sunfish (around 1 inch!). Regardless, if you fish, bring a rod and reel and try your luck! Judging from the number of fire rings in the area, I would guess that people also really like to come night fish for catfish here.
This is a kid friendly area and cache. It is a not too long or difficult walk. Happy Father's Day, even if you don't find this on Father's Day!
