Geocache Description:

Clear Creek Trail - Phase 2

20.8 acres, stretching 2.4 miles from Tapp Road to Church Lane, and connecting to the existing Bloomington Rail Trail.HistoryClear Creek Trail was acquired in 1997 by 12 separate purchases with the City of Bloomington Utilities. A 'linear park', this trail offers an alternative means of transportation and represents a long-term commitment to connect public facilities by routes that do not require vehicles. Phase I of the Clear Creek Trail between Tapp Road and That Road was opened on May 23, 2001. Phase II from That Road to Church Lane is scheduled to open to the public on Oct. 30, 2003. The 150' wrought-iron bridge was moved from its original home in Warren County where it spanned a river since 1887. The bridge was painstakingly restored, then placed over Clear Creek near the Church Lane trailhead on August 1, 2003.DIRECTIONSFrom College Mall: North Trailhead- Take College Mall Road south to Rogers Road and turn right (west). The trailhead is about 1/2 mile past Rockport Rd on the left, just past the Bloomington Rail Trail trailhead.South Trailhead: College Mall Road south to Rogers Road, turn right (west) and drive to Walnut Street. Turn left (south) and go to Church Lane. Turn right (west) on Church to Rogers Street (not Rogers Road...). Turn left (south) on Rogers, and then right (west) to pick up Church Lane again. The Clear Creek Trailhead is about 1/4 mile, on the right. Cache is a well hidden 30mm Ammo Box loaded with lots of goodies to trade , a log book and a pen. Please rehide as found, as there is alot of people that use this trail. Cache is not far off main trail.
