Occasionally when driving around you
find a place where things seam to go just a little bit slower.
Beaver Lake is that kind of place. I happen upon this place
because my Better Half Shell mentioned that she wanted to go
fishing and had heard this was a good place to go. Beaver Lake
is not exactly on the beaten path. You either go North on
Highway 53 from the Bluegrass Parkway or West from
Lawrenceburg to get to it. The lake has a small boat motor
restriction and swimming and watercraft are not allowed. The
slower pace on the lake makes for a perfect place to put in a
line and fish for bluegill, bass and catfish to name a few.
The dock has fishing boats that you can rent. If you don’t
want to rent a boat you can use the fishing pier that in
nearby. After spending some time near or on the lake you can
go on to find this cache and complete your Lazy Day Drive.
One Turtle Note: Alcoholic Beverages are not allowed on or around
the lake, your cooler will be searched if you rent a boat.
If you rent a boat the coordinates below are a few of my and
Better Half Shell’s favorite fishing holes :
