This should be an easy find. The terrain is level. It's located at an Army Corps of Engineers information/education pull-over site near the dam.
The cache container is an ammo can. During the tourist season the area can be very busy so please be discreet when finding/logging/rehiding. This is a geology theme cache in memory of my Grandfather, Earl Douglass, the paleontologist who discovered the Dinosaur Quarry at the Dinosaur National Monument, Utah. Although his major discoveries were in Utah he lived in Montana as a younger man and explored many areas where he found a variety of fossils. I thought this would be an appropriate area to place a cache in his memory.
The actual contents contain a few things from his collection.The original contents are:
Shell fossil found by Earl Douglass, pieces of arrow heads found in Uintah area by Earl Douglass, post card pictures of Earl Douglass and his workers at Dinoaur Quarry after his discovery in Utah, many toy dinosaurs, rocks I collected and polished, Boy Scout dinosaur card from troop in Vernal, UT near Dinosaur National Monument.
Because it is a geology theme cache it would be preferable to trade some kind of artifact or literature about geology but you are welcome to interpret this broadly. Enjoy the cache, the history of the area, and the scenery.
