The given coordinates will take you to the Catharine Creek WMA. Unless you want to go tromping through the swamp you’ll have to settle for just looking from the parking area. Be sure to walk in just a little ways, though, because there’s a small pond that’s worth seeing. You must find the answers to the following questions to get the coordinates to part two.
N42°21.AAB'
W76°51.CCD'
AA = The number of rules and regulations for the WMA – 1.
B = The number of cattails on the sign about the Wetland Restoration Project + the number of groups who provided funding for the project.
CC = The number of large rocks in the parking area (count large rocks that split in half as only one) – 2.
D = The number of excavated potholes.
Part two is located in another scenic area that’s along the swamp (though now it’s behind a wooded area). You’ll have to answer some more questions to get the coordinates for the actual cache.
N42°20.AAB'
W76°51.CDD'
AA = The number of letters on the north facing side of the welcome sign + 20.
B = The speed limit on the nearby road / 10.
C = The number of Indians buried in the parking area.
DD = The year two towns were divided – 1848.
The cache is located in an area that can get very busy, but it’s in an out of the way section of it. Please make sure that the cache is replaced exactly as you found it. If it’s pushed back too far it may become very hard to reach. Also make sure it's completely covered. The container is small, but it contains a full sized logbook, pen and some small trade items, so be sure to bring your own items to trade with. Have fun and enjoy the scenes.
