Agramone: Unfortunately there has been no response from the owner regarding this cache, and sadly I am forced to archive it at this time. If at some point in the near future the cache is determined to still be present or is replaced, please e-mail me via the link on my profile page. If it still meets the current guidelines, we can discuss unarchiving it at that time.

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

Kimama/ Carey road---follow gps! From the cache site to the west is the airport, to the east the Laidlaw corrals! It's not too baaaaaad a road!!!

The Laidlaw Corrals airport was constructed in 1951 by the Idaho Dept. of Aeronautics. Like most desert strips, it was constructed primarily as an emergency use facility. It's locationwas chosen 'cuz it is on the "flyway" between Boise and Poky. Two more reasons were to provide a safe landing area for those wishing to fly to the existing sheep shearing pens nearby, and it would facilitate seeding, pest control projects and the fighting of range fires in the area. Jim Laidlaw was the first to run sheep on the north side of the Snake River on the Minidoka desert, and he built the first roads into that area .
