And now, back to your regularly scheduled cache...
My last cache on this end of the lake has gone missing and this
is one to replace it. I hope this one sticks around a while longer!
Parking can be found at N40 38.116, W89 01.349. The cache is just
under a quarter of a mile, as the crow flies, from the parking area
but a little over 8 tenths of a mile by the trails, if you take the
long way (right after the bridge, this is the recommended route).
The short way (left/straight) will come to a bit over a third of a
mile but you miss some nice scenery. It's an easy hike on well
marked, mown trails and a good area to get a view of the lake, Deer
Island and to bird watch. The area has been pretty heavy with ticks
so dress accordingly; long pants, long shirt and a hat! The cache
is a smallish, regular cache and big items may not fit.
NOTE: be sure to put the lid together as you find it (you
don't need to take it all the way apart) and don't be afraid to
tighten it down a bit.
