Geocache Description:

On the "Drumlin Field" and "Red Spruce Loop Trail". There are still a couple obstacles from Hurricane Juan and lots of exposed roots on the trail. Cache will be found...where else ...at a MAPLE tree (easier to identify in summer than in winter!). Both containers are camouflaged.

"...And may those ties of love be ours
Which discord cannot sever
And flourish green for freedom's home
The Maple Leaf Forever"
This is a Canada-themed cache, suggested by our geo-daughter, Jessica. If you can, please continue the theme with (for example) Canadian coins, postage stamps, souvenirs, pins, badges/crests, postcards, hockey cards, Timmy's gift certificates, etc.
Although not necessary to complete this cache, some of our area's National Historic Sites are well worth a visit: York Redoubt (established 1793); Halifax Citadel (constructed between 1828 & 1856); Pier 21 (where over a million immigrants passed through between 1928 & 1971); Old Burying Ground (land granted in 1749); and Prince of Wales Tower (built in 1796-1797). Uniacke Estates (built 1815) is not a national site, but you WILL need to visit this park. IMPORTANT: SOME OF THE ABOVE DATES WILL BE NEEDED TO FIND THE CACHE !!! Our travel bug - Sir John, Eh - started his mission from this cache.
