This cache is easily accessible from Ocean Beach Park in New London (there is a fee to park in the lot, or you can walk/bike in through the pedestrian exit for a lesser fee) or come in from the ocean-side via your favorite mode of water transportation (you will need to get out of the boat, however).
The Alewife Cove Nature Walk is a pretty, short hike at the pavillion-end of Ocean Beach Park. Ocean Beach has lots of great family activities, from the wet ones (water slides, pool, beach) to the dry (mini golf, arcade, carnival rides, playground, etc). Check out their website (visit link) for upcoming activities - they have free concerts and family movies and old car nights and magic shows throughout the summer.You're searching for an ammo can, just a little bit off the beaten path, but hopefully hidden well enough from the summer traffic (please re-hide well!). And while you're in the 'hood, go for that caching double-header by grabbing the nearby Under the Boardwalk cache.
