Geocache Description:

You can see it any time through the fence, but to walk right up to it you must go between 9AM and 6PM, Monday thru Thursday.

This colossal pre-columbian (some call it Jaredite) head is AWESOME! It is an exact replica of the ancient Olmec head no.8 which was originally discovered in the late 1960s by an archaeologist who used magnetometer technology to detect and map volcanic rock under the surface of the dense Mexican Jungle. It weighs 8 tons and is 7 1/2 feet tall and was a gift from Miguel Aleman Velazco, Governor of the State of Veracruz, Mexico. Only 3 were given to the United States: 1 to the Smithsonian, 1 to the Chicago Field Museum, and 1 to West Valley City, Utah!

This treasure is one of the coolest artifacts in Utah and is a "Must See," -- the kids will love it!

To claim a "find" for this cache, you must sign the log book like any other cache except that the log book is located at the front desk of the adjacent building.

Any geocachers who sign it will receive a commemorative prize (a pin, a pencil, a picture, or something like that) from the staff during the hours listed above. They will also be able to tell you all about the artifact and the major fiesta when it arrived.
